VOLUNTEERING
  • A Hackney Autobiography: Volunteered on A Hackney Autobiography, an Arts Council-funded project which investigated the history of Centerprise, a community centre based in Hackney from the 1970s to the 2000s. Based at Bishopsgate Institute Library, the volunteering included scanning, archiving, researching, and mapping. I used InDesign and Photoshop to digitalise old books and publications, in order to be seen online, and project managed this digitalization
  • News Editor of Hullfire, the student newspaper, at Hull University, where I interviewed the NUS President and attended a student media conference
  • Was regular contributor to the newspaper Hackney Citizen
  • Volunteer Secretary for Sustainable Hackney, an organisation devoted to sustainable projects in the borough
  • Volunteered as a Team Leader at the Southbank Centre 2011-2012, including helping with the building the Festival Village arts space
  • I managed to convince my MP, Diane Abbott, to support a Local Electricity Scheme, currently making its way through Parliament, and devised by the campaign organisation Power for People
